Witnessing in resonance. Sonic report on disobedience. Poland, October 2020
In Ola Zielińska’s sonic report individuals join their force and rise against the oppressor. Poland’s government has failed its female citizens – along with LGBTQI people and many others (so many, that in fact together they are the majority) – who now begin to create their own communities and bonds. Witnessing in resonance is a powerful testimony about fear, rage, and solidarity.

To topple down a governing body, one’s frequency needs purposefully to adjust itself to fight against the draconian laws imposed, but also to protect oneself.
It is in the midst of a pandemic the Polish government succeeds to force a near to total ban on abortion. And while attempts on tightening the abortion law was a matter of protests in Poland since 2016, this time a massive scale of civic reaction embodied in the recent protests accumulated in more than 100,000 people only in Warsaw resisting together. Although it was an unexpected course of action the decision to take the protest to the street was inevitable. A massive wave of sonic disobedience of an uncontrollable crowd.
